Course Name: Post Basic Bachelor of Science(Nursing)

The purpose of the postgraduate nursing programme is to provide training and good nursing education with an emphasis on educating student nurses for the fundamental health of people living in the community and to satisfy the needs of expanding hospitals and nursing homes.

The graduate programme aims to give the country’s qualitative communication and interpersonal interaction skills in the field of nursing education and skills, to achieve leadership qualities, and decision-making capabilities, to satisfy increasing hospital/personal health needs.

3. Upper age limit (as on 31.12.2021)

  • There is no upper age limit for a candidate who is presently employed in a private Institute.
  • For candidates presently employed in Govt. Institutes, the upper age limit is 53 years unless special permission is obtained from the DHS/JS(N)/Secretary(Nursing)/Higher Authorities.

4. Nationality

  • She should be citizen of India
  • She will be an occupant of West Bengal uninterruptedly for no less than five years going before
    the date of making the application for admission to the preparation Academy.
  • The residential certificate should be issued by a Gazetted officer/MLA/Zila Parishad
    Sabhadhipati/Mayor of Municipal Corporation.

5. Education

  • The candidate must pass (10+2) level Examinations from any recognized Board & must pass the GNM course and obtain a Registration/RNRM certificate from the State Nursing Council of any state of India. 
  • Positive execution in joint passageway (JEPBN) assessment led by the college.

6. Selection Process

  • Selection will be based on JEPBN merit list and counseling.

7. Work Experience

  • Work experience is not essential for candidates who are presently employed in private institutes
  • Govt. employees must have at least 3 years qualifying uninterrupted/regularized experience in Govt. service by 30/09/21.

8. Accommodation of Application

  • Should be submitted to the Principal of GitaRam College of Nursing.

9. Medical Fitness

  • Candidates should be medically fit.

10. Excursion

  •  According to standards set somewhere near West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

11. Examination

  • University examinations will be conducted every year on the subjects covered during that respective year.

12. Registration

  •  The students who are declared successful in the final year examination are eligible for registration with the W.B.N.C. as Registered Nurse.
